What is the SUUSI Foundation?
The SUUSI Foundation is dedicated to supporting the long-term vitality of the Southeast Unitarian Universalist Summer Institute (SUUSI).
Our mission includes managing and growing the SUUSI Endowment Fund, as well as funding SUUSI’s scholarship program, known as SUUSIships.
Founded by a group of passionate volunteers, the Foundation was created to help secure SUUSI’s future and ensure that its unique community thrives for generations to come.
We’ve made great progress — but our work is far from over.
The SUUSI Foundation Endowment
The SUUSI Foundation Endowment was established to ensure the long-term sustainability of SUUSI for generations to come. An endowment is a permanent fund in which the principal is invested, and only the earnings are used—allowing your gift to keep giving, year after year. It provides a powerful way for supporters to help secure SUUSI’s future through contributions such as bequests, charitable trusts, life insurance policies, planned giving, cash donations, and other legacy gifts. The Endowment is maintained as a separate fund and is carefully managed by The SUUSI Foundation Board of Directors to support SUUSI’s mission in perpetuity.
SUUSIships
The SUUSI Foundation raises scholarship funds annually to help participants attend SUUSI. These scholarships cover the cost of registration and housing for the week and rely 100% on your donations. The SUUSIship program aims to help bring new faces to SUUSI, increase SUUSI’s diversity, and make SUUSI accessible to anyone who is interested in attending.
